It really has a nerve and a pulse, and catchy hooklinesto boot. Not to forget the meaningful lyrics and melody. Retro music is charmingand endearing and will never go out of style. The songs (both Hindi and English)after 1995 seem to be too computer-based and electronic with poor lyrics. All they talk about is sex, lust, fame and money. No wonder theBeatles still get royalties and have made pots of money. I predict that it willremain cool till at least 2005. I adore music from the 60s to 80s, includingsongs of Billy Joel, John Denver and EltonJohn. The English ones are pretty good.Look at the way Madonna and Beyonce have taken famous older songs by DonnaSummers and Blondie and made them so popular today. A remix should be as good oreven better than the original. In India the remixes are not toogood. There''s more quantity than quality. But remixes are a good trend as longas the essence of the song isn''tlost. Now this might be surprising, but I have noticed thateven 19-year-olds listen to and groove to retro music. This is the kind of musicthat their parents listened to. When they hear a remixed number they do want tolisten to the original one. Retro is making a comeback and is certainly notpasse. It is very hip and very in. I''ve noticed that college kids dance to itand party hard to it. That''s truly a wonderful feeling for a singer likeme.
